Microblading in Seoul

Microblading at Claire Beauty, an English-friendly studio in Sinchon, Seoul, costs ₩250,000, and the appointment takes about 2 hours. Results are semi-permanent and usually last about 1–2 years. Skin heals in about 2–3 weeks, and a touch-up within 6 weeks is complimentary if you need one.

Microblading is a manual technique that uses a fine hand tool to create hair-like brow strokes. It can give crisp, natural results on suitable skin. At Claire Beauty we offer it alongside nano brows and recommend whichever suits your skin better.

How microblading works

Microblading is done by hand. The artist uses a small tool with a row of very fine needles to make shallow, hair-thin cuts in the skin and place pigment in them. Because each stroke is drawn manually, it can look very crisp and fine.

Microblading vs nano brows

Both aim for the look of individual hairs. The difference is the tool. Nano brows use a machine and a single needle, which places pigment without cutting and is often gentler on the skin. On oily, thin or sensitive skin, microbladed strokes are more likely to heal blurred or patchy, so we often recommend nano brows instead. On normal to dry skin, microblading can heal beautifully. Neither technique is better for everyone. Read the full comparison

Who may suit microblading

  • Normal to dry skin with small pores
  • People who already have some brow hair and want definition
  • People who want a very fine, crisp stroke

It is usually less suitable for very oily skin, enlarged pores, thin or easily irritated skin, or brows with a lot of old tattoo pigment.

Please tell us before booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood-thinning medication or isotretinoin, are having medical treatment, have a skin condition in the area, tend to form keloid scars, or have recently had Botox, filler, laser or other treatments nearby. You may need to wait, or check with your doctor first.

Healing

Healing is similar to nano brows: darker for the first days, flaking from around day four, a faint or patchy stage in weeks two to three, and a settled color at four to six weeks. A touch-up is optional: complimentary touch-up within 6 weeks of your first appointment (about 30 minutes to 1 hour), for clients who had their original treatment at Claire Beauty. Aftercare

Microbladed strokes usually last about 1–2 years, depending on skin and lifestyle.

Limitations and risks

  • Results vary with skin type, oiliness, sun exposure, skincare and healing.
  • Pigment fades over time and its tone can shift slightly.
  • Redness and swelling are common at first. Infection or allergic reaction is rare but possible; see a doctor if pain, heat, swelling or discharge gets worse.
  • It is semi-permanent, not permanent, and does not make hair grow.
