Nano Brows Healing Timeline and Aftercare

Nano brows look darker for the first few days, flake from around day four, often look faint or patchy in weeks two and three, and settle into their healed color at four to six weeks. Gentle, consistent aftercare in the first one to two weeks matters most.

Week by week

  • Days 1–3: darker, sharper and a little thicker than they will be. Mild redness and tenderness are normal.
  • Days 4–10: flaking and itching. The flakes carry some color with them. Leave them alone.
  • Weeks 2–3: the “ghosting” stage. New skin covers the strokes, so brows can look faint or patchy. Most people worry here, and it’s almost always temporary.
  • Weeks 4–6: color comes back through and settles. This is your healed result, and when we assess a touch-up.

Aftercare that makes a difference

  • Keep your brows dry for the first 3 days.
  • Don’t use cleansing oil, facial cleanser or other cleansing products on the brows for at least 7 days.
  • Avoid the gym, saunas, spas, swimming and heavy sweating for at least 7–10 days.
  • Keep your brows out of direct sunlight until they’re fully healed.
  • Don’t sleep face down, and don’t scratch, rub or pick. Let flakes fall off naturally.

Our full aftercare instructions are the same ones we send after your appointment.

Normal vs not normal

Normal: mild redness, slight swelling, tightness, itching and flaking. Not normal: pain or swelling that increases after the first days, heat, pus, a fever, or a rash. See a doctor promptly if you notice these.

How long do nano brows last?

Usually one to three years, fading gradually. Oily skin, sun and active skincare shorten that. Most clients refresh them about once a year.
